A&E Awning Wind Speed Retraction Adjustment

This article describes how to adjust the wind speed retraction setting for the A&E Weatherpro awning.

To make a retraction adjustment, remove the four screws from the control box cover and lift the cover to expose the circuit board. Locate a small red block with five small white "dip" switches. To turn a dip switch ON use a plastic ball point pen and move the switch upward.

On my '03, the control box is the blue box in the small storage bin above the entry door.

Warning! Read all the following before attempting an adjustment.

If the awning is retracting at too LOW of a wind speed:

  1. Turn ON dip switch #2 ONLY: This will add about 3 MPH
  2. Turn ON dip switch #3 ONLY: This will add about 6 MPH

DO NOT USE #2 and #3 AT THE SAME TIME.

If the awning is retracting at too HIGH of a wind speed:

  1. Turn ON dip switches #2 and #4: This will subtract about 3 MPH
  2. Turn ON dip switches #3 and #4: This will subtract about 6 MPH

DO NOT USE #1 NOR #5 AT ANY TIME.

The switches are numbered 1 through 5 from LEFT to RIGHT.

I recommend you test the changes before leaving the awning unattended.
