Fix the Squeaky TV

This will fix the squeaky television problem in the cockpit while driving. This applies to the older tube type televisions. We have a 2004 39S with a stock Panasonic TV but I would expect this to work for most of the tube type televisions. This is an easy inexpensive solution. Much of the squeak comes from the friction between the plastic facing that touches the TV tube. Purchase a good quality clear silicone caulk, you can get one of the smaller squeeze type tubes, you don?t need a large caulk gun type tube. Get a butter knife from the kitchen drawer. Pick a corner to start with, gently slide the butter knife under the plastic facing and lift up just a slight bit. Cut just a small hole in the nozzle of the caulk tube approx. 1/8 to 3/32 of an inch. The objective is to squirt a small line of caulk just under the plastic facing so when the plastic is lowered, there is thin layer of caulk between the facing and the tube surface. Do this all the way around the front of the TV. Wipe off any excess with a paper towel, immediately after applying it. This took me less then 30 minutes and completely solved the squeaky TV.
