There is a vinyl strip that is installed above the entry steps on some coaches. After a few years it becomes scarred, dirty, unsightly, etc. To solve this problem, we first removed the vinyl strip by using a sharp putty knife. We weren't concerned about whether we damaged the paint underneath because we were going to cover it with spray black truck bed liner paint. After removing the vinyl strip, we rough sanded the area we were going to cover with 80 grit sand paper. We decided we would cover a bit larger area than the vinyl strip covered to make the job look more like a factory job. We then taped off the area and sprayed the bed liner paint onto the area. We applied many light coats to build up the coverage. The results are pictured below.
